I've been trying something new lately. You may have gotten wind
of it from a video or an email here and there, but it's really
been fun to see the huge response to this new approach. Here it
is:
I've been singling out certain weeks during the year and
declaring a special musical focus for that week. I collaborate
with some of my favorite co-instructors, put some extra videos up
on YouTube, and help guitar players hone in on a specific area of
playing during a relatively small window of time. The result is
that people cast off distractions, join me in the fun, focused
journey, and dig deep!
This week is "Play By Ear Week". There is no other single skill
that informs ALL areas of our playing like developing our musical
ear. This week, by being laser-focused on playing by ear, we are
going to, in effect, help you improve everything about your
musical journey! Be sure to join me and fellow educator Chris
